After being arrested, he is sent to Ferramonti Concentration Camp, the largest internment camp for Jews in Italy during WWII. The narrative vividly portrays the harsh realities of camp life, including extreme weather, disease, and hunger, while highlighting Ferramonti's role as a refuge for 3,000 Jews evading the Final Solution.
