Set in Australia between 1943 and 1955, the narrative follows Peggy, a young woman facing dire circumstances that lead her into the harsh realities of life as a Nursing Aide. After a traumatic experience at fourteen, she embarks on a journey from Sydney to Melbourne to confront her pregnancy alone. Her story uncovers the dark underbelly of the baby farming industry and the suffering of many single women post-WWII, shedding light on the societal injustices and the plight of those known today as The Stolen White Generation.
