Focusing on advancements in organic chemistry, this thesis introduces a novel methodology for the asymmetric synthesis of lactones, crucial components of many natural products, leading to the creation of biologically active analogues. Additionally, it details the development of a catalytic asymmetric synthesis for a key structural motif found in various natural products and pharmaceuticals. A significant finding of dual stereo control was achieved, enabling the configuration of a new stereo center through a straightforward alteration of the proton source.
