Focusing on gender dynamics within herbal literature, this study explores how female writers assert their authority in herbal practice through language. By analyzing print vernacular herbals and incorporating extensive archival research, the author uncovers new insights into women's ownership of medical texts. The examination spans various genres and formats, highlighting the rhetorical strategies employed by women in the field of herbalism.
