Set in the 1970s, the story follows Sara, a young poet who leaves her husband to pursue a new life in San Francisco. She finds work at a wig-dye company, where the quirky atmosphere and her unconventional boss, Al, challenge her perceptions. As she navigates her new environment, Sara begins to develop feelings for Al, drawn in by his humor and their mutual passion for music, leading her to reevaluate her choices and aspirations.
