Competing with Disruptive Business Models in Traditional Industries. Conceptualisation of a Strategic Framework

The study presents a typology of three stages of industry disruption, focusing on how established companies can navigate competition from innovative newcomers like Airbnb and Netflix. It categorizes the newcomers' developmental stages and assesses the competitive position of incumbents based on competition intensity and response time. By outlining strategic reasoning processes, the research aims to help incumbents formulate effective strategies and evaluate potential counter-measures to counteract the challenges posed by disruptive innovations in their industries.
