The Keep

Set in 1930s Johannesburg, the Leyton family grapples with their Russian-Jewish heritage amidst a racially divided society. Rayfel, the ambitious lawyer, seeks political change through liberal democracy, while his wife Freda yearns for excitement beyond their mundane life. Their daughter Josephine possesses keen insight and empathy, troubled by the injustices around her, while her brother Simon embodies untamed energy, teetering on savagery.
