Metal Inert Gas Welding of Mild Steel (IS 5986 Fe 410)

The research explores the optimization of Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding parameters, focusing on their impact on the weld bead geometry of MS 5986 Fe 410 carbon steel sheets. Key factors analyzed include welding current, voltage, speed, and gas flow rate, utilizing a mixture of argon and carbon dioxide for shielding. Employing the Taguchi Technique, the study incorporates an Orthogonal array, signal to noise ratio, and ANOVA to assess welding characteristics. Findings highlight the significance of weld bead geometry in influencing the mechanical properties of weld joints.
