Set against the backdrop of a high-society house party, a young playwright and an interior designer become embroiled in a murder investigation after the wife of a Senator is found dead. Initially bonding over a playful discussion about a mystery play, Stephen Ransom and Ann Vickery soon find themselves suspects. As they navigate the complexities of the case and work to prove their innocence, they must also contend with the scrutiny of Inspector Duveen, blending suspense with elements of romance and wit.
