Focusing on the highlands of the Ancash region in Peru, this work presents a qualitative study conducted in 2021 that explores local perceptions, attitudes, and behaviors related to mountains, glaciers, and glacial lakes. The research serves as a guide for making informed choices that benefit both the environment and the communities reliant on these natural resources.
