Focusing on the internal materials supply system (MSS), this thesis emphasizes the importance of a concurrent engineering (CE) approach in product development. It highlights the need to integrate logistics considerations early in the design process to enhance both quality and time-to-market. By involving relevant stakeholders in defining MSS requirements, the thesis proposes a structured framework to facilitate this integration. The findings are supported by literature reviews and a case study conducted in the automotive manufacturing sector.
