The story follows Tony Macucci, a powerful yet morally ambiguous figure in the music industry, tasked with reviving the career of washed-up singer Dave McGuinn. To secure his position, Macucci devises a plan to orchestrate a hit on McGuinn, aiming to propel the singer's old song "American Sky" to the top of the charts.
