Focusing on the performance of concrete under high temperatures, this work presents experimental investigations into thermal strains and elastic properties at the material scale. It develops a multiphase model that incorporates concrete constituents to bridge the gap to real-scale tunnel fire simulations. The research compares current fire design practices with advanced modeling techniques for tunnel structures under fire loading. Ultimately, it aims to enhance numerical tools for analyzing critical structures, thereby improving the safety of underground environments during fire incidents.
