Set in 1930s Berlin, the story follows Josef Dietrick, who endures a difficult home life with his self-absorbed mother and abusive step-family. After a harrowing sexual assault by his step-brother's friend, Tielo, Josef finds himself homeless. He is rescued by the compassionate siblings, Lucas and Anke, who offer him shelter and support, setting the stage for a journey of survival and resilience amidst the harsh realities of his environment.
