Set in 16th century Italy, an eleven-year-old boy grapples with the impending loss of his birthday due to the transition from the Julian to the Gregorian calendar. Tibaldo, inspired by his father’s work as a medical assistant and his sister’s role as a midwife, is passionate about medicine and quickly earns the admiration of his mentor, Professor Turisanus.
