In spring 2015, the author taught a popular four-week class on "Writing as a Spiritual Practice" at Vestavia Hills Baptist Church, leading to the formation of a monthly writers group initiated by Pastor Gary Furr. The group fostered ongoing writing activities, providing a supportive community where members offered encouragement and affirmations of the author's work, highlighting the transformative power of writing in a spiritual context.
