Set in 1943, two brothers, nearly 12-year-old George and his older sibling Jack, experience a summer filled with intrigue in wartime Whitby, Ontario. With their mother working at a munitions plant and their father away at war, they discover a secret spy camp known as Camp X. Their curiosity leads them into a thrilling adventure where they suspect local residents, including the police chief and Jack's newspaper boss, of espionage, blurring the lines between friend and foe in a time of uncertainty.
