The story follows a great artist who, after being cast into the icy Harlem River by a hit-and-run driver, experiences a near-death vision that fuels his obsession to capture the inexpressible in art. Presumed dead, he embarks on a global pilgrimage to seek enlightenment from holy men, grappling with the challenge of understanding eternity without losing himself. After 25 years, his daughter, whom he never knew existed, and the murderer from that fateful night come searching for him, intertwining their fates in unexpected ways.
