Set in the 1980s, the narrative follows the Santos Family Law Practice in El Paso, exploring themes of crime, family loyalty, and identity. Loosely inspired by the notorious Chagra brothers and the murder of Judge John Wood, the story delves into the darker side of the law office, intertwined with drugs, gambling, and trafficking. The younger brother grapples with his cultural heritage as he witnesses his siblings striving for an "American" lifestyle, leading to a dramatic trial that tests their familial bonds and moral choices.
