Set against the backdrop of the impending Seven Years' War in 1755, the story follows 15-year-old Nola and her Acadian family as they face expulsion from Grand Pré by the British. Alongside her friends Hector and Jocelyne, and her grandfather, Nola embarks on a daring escape by boat. However, their journey quickly turns perilous as they confront unforeseen challenges that test their courage and resilience.
