Congenital heart disease (CHD) involves various structural heart abnormalities present at birth, making it the most prevalent birth defect globally, affecting about 1 in 100 newborns. The spectrum of CHD ranges from mild issues to severe conditions that may require multiple surgeries. Despite advancements in care, it remains a significant cause of infant mortality, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, where nearly one million childhood deaths are attributed to CHD each year, highlighting the urgent need for improved medical management and resources.
