My Last Sunset in Lebanon is the story of a professional, intelligent, and sensitive woman with an impressive capacity for love which put her in a position to make a life and death decision to save her little girl. In this book, we journey to a world and a culture where women have little value, and yet the protagonist of this story discovered courage she did not know she possessed, a renewed faith, and a deep mother's love that accompanied her on an incredible odyssey that ultimately led to a land of freedom. Mayra Santos was born in the Dominican Republic where she studied law at Pontifica Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra. She continued her studies at the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University. Subsequently, she was admitted to the New York State Bar. Mayra also obtained a master's degree in Public Administration from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, CUNY. Currently, Mayra lives in Miami, Florida where she works in the legal field. She is a mother, daughter, wife, and friend. Her passion is to serve her community, church, clients, and above all women in general.
