For years, there were rumors that the family was under some sort of curse. No-one knew exactly when it started, or how, but every few years someone else would be found dead in mysterious circumstances and the mutterings about the curse would start up again. Growing up, Rivka Biton is determined that the curse - if it even exists - is not going to claim her as its next victim. But then a number of strange events start to snowball, and Rivka starts to fear that the curse is coming after her, too. A supernatural encounter convinces Rivka that the only way to break the curse is to revisit the family's strange past in Morocco, and to finally face down her own demons. Biton explores how the past can continue to control us even when we try to run away from it, in a story that reminds us that the sins of the fathers can be passed on to the children in some surprisingly disturbing ways.
