Free-spirited artist model, Nancy, has a chance encounter with Spencer, a reserved astrobiologist at your everyday Los Angeles coffee shop. Curious about each other's lives, they start up a conversation debating the pros and cons of scientific objectivity and artistic values. While their philosophical differences are immediately apparent, they eventually discover that they share a common interest in unraveling the mysteries of the universe. Each try to convince the other that their worldview is superior, but will they ever see eye to eye? With a dash of Iranian mysticism, Free Nancy Esting celebrates the colorful and varied lives of LA, the love of ideas, and how they all reach from the depths of our universe to the tip of an artist's pencil.
