Joey is a special education teacher trying to fit in with the school system. Dodie is a young woman emotionally battered following a horrible accident. Each woman is dealing with loss and shattered dreams. In this fictional story, the author explores how we perceive those who are developmentally different and through the lives of these two women, guides the reader to a deeper understanding that at our core, we are all the same.
