In Memoirs of the Preachers Wife: Things Only God Knew, the Anita Dial's new autobiography, the former wife of a preacher chronicles the devastating rollercoaster ride of her husband's drug addiction and domestic abuse. After nearly a decade, Dial has come forward to share her story with others so that they might not have to suffer her same fate. For Dial, 6 years of marriage felt like 60, as her husband, Jerome, turned their lives inside-out with his drug addiction, becoming paranoid and violent in his threats towards Dial. But she did not leave him, at least not yet. "My husband was a preacher and I felt it was my duty to support him no matter what," writes Dial. "I figured no sacrifice was too much, because we were Christians and that is what Christians do."
