Evan is the only child in devout Christian family. Every Sunday, his mother lays out his suit for another long sermon at their local church, and another humiliating perfomance in the churches band. He is ostracized at his school, and even the kids at church stay away from him. Frustrated and lonely, Evan is desperate for something to change. But his attemps at school are thwarted, and he can get away with nothing at his own house. Forced to take out his growing anger elsewhere, Evan stumbles across Paraphernalia,' a small record store oozing with the temptations of what Evan knows only as, The Devil's Music.' Through Rock and Roll, Evan begins to realise a world existing beyond the church, a world without morals and limitations. And through Rock and Roll, Evan meets Dylan, another repressed youth desperate to rebel. But how strong can a bond built on rebellion really be?
