Lymph node is an organ of lymphatic system which engenders the adaptive immune system. Numerous lymph nodes configure a comprehensive network of the lymphatic system with interconnecting lymphatic vessels. Lymph node is a predominant site of emerging B and T lymphocytes and serves as a secondary lymphoid organ. Lymph node ensures appropriate function of the immune system and contributes to filtration of foreign particles such as malignant cells. The lymph node is enclosed within a fibrous capsule and demonstrates an extrinsic cortex and an intrinsic medulla.
