Newport is a Gothic novel set in the late 19th century, written by American author George Parsons Lathrop. The novel tells the story of an artist who comes to Newport, Rhode Island to paint the portrait of a wealthy man's daughter, and falls in love with her. However, the young woman is being courted by a man with a sinister past who will stop at nothing to win her hand.
