Octavius Jackson was excited to start his new job as the head chef of a small bistro at London's famous Hotel Langham. But his peaceful life is shattered when a newspaper article about the killing of a downtrodden prostitute in the Whitechapel District brings back terrible memories of working as a barber in his mother's brothel. Those horrible memories begin a dark spiral into the abyss as he tries to make sense of the vile world around him, eventually changing him into a dark monster capable of unspeakable evil. After an ambitious newspaper publisher gives a name to that monster, Octavius' journey is altered forever.
