Testament

Meer over het boek

The first volume of Karol Strmeň's poetic work includes his early collection, "Výžinok života," and the poem "Testament." Additionally, it features the cycle "Čo zostáva," which contains poems from the unpublished collection "Bojovník" and an unfinished epic poem titled "Holuby." The first revised section of "Holuby" was published in an exile magazine in 1974. The poem "Testament" is presented in the form it was previously published, omitting the titles of the introductory and concluding sections. All poems were written in Slovakia before 1945, the year of Strmeň's emigration. Minimal language adjustments have been made to align the texts with contemporary spelling.
