Though termed tyrants, the Pisistratids initially rise as champions of the people, earning the Athenians' support until Hipparchos's missteps lead to his murder by Harmodios and Aristogeiton, marking the downfall of their court. Throughout these upheavals, Simonides endures and eventually retires to Sicily, reflecting on his remarkable life.
