Local law enforcement quickly pursued a serial killer theory, leading to extensive media coverage and heightened panic within Jennings’ class-divided neighborhoods. However, as the cases remained unsolved, the community began to question the integrity of the investigation. Rumors of police corruption, evidence tampering, and collusion between law enforcement and the local underworld emerged, casting doubt on the serial killer narrative. What transpired in the Boudreaux Inn, a decrepit motel where many of these women were last seen? Why were the crimes unresolved, and why were police officers facing indictments?
