Biological exposure values for occupational toxicants and carcinogens

Meer over het boek

The term BAT value describes the greatest permissible quantity of a working material in human biological media. BAT values are derived by monitoring the absorbed concentration of an occupational toxicant in body fluids and by the subsequent determination of a limit at which mo more adverse effects to the worker's health are observed. Therefore BAT values protect the individual against chemically caused diseases; they are required for medical health surveillance. This is the first Volume in a series of industrial health/toxicological justifications of BAT values. It is a necessary supplement to the 'Occupational Toxicants' which document and justify the limit setting process of MAK values (maximum concentrations at the workplace). 51 BAT values for 35 substances or groups of substances have been evaluated.
