Gitanjali

A pivotal figure in Bengali literature and music, Tagore transformed Indian art through Contextual Modernism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Renowned for his deeply emotive and beautiful verse in Gitanjali, he made history in 1913 as the first non-European Nobel laureate in Literature. While his poetic songs are celebrated for their spiritual essence, much of his elegant prose and enchanting poetry remains largely unrecognized beyond Bengal, earning him the title "the Bard of Bengal."
