Initially published serially between 1787 and 1788, it includes 77 original pieces along with eight additional essays. The compilation, known as The Federalist: A Collection of Essays, was first released in two volumes in 1788. The title The Federalist Papers was adopted later in the 20th century, reflecting its enduring significance in American political discourse.
