Kilmeny of the Orchard

Set on Prince Edward Island, the story follows Eric Marshall, a young teacher who encounters Kilmeny, a mute girl with exceptional hearing. Their bond deepens as he is enchanted by her violin playing, leading to a heartfelt romance. Despite their mutual love, Kilmeny declines his marriage proposal, fearing her disability would burden his life.
