Set against the backdrop of Irish mythology, the play explores the tragic tale of Deirdre, a beautiful young woman prophesied to bring doom to those who love her. Raised by Lavarcham to be the queen of Conchubor, Deirdre resists her fate and instead chooses to elope with Naisi, igniting a series of events that lead to conflict and exile for Ulster's greatest warriors. The unfinished work was later completed by William Butler Yeats and Molly Allgood, capturing the themes of love, destiny, and sacrifice in a rich cultural narrative.
