Software Assistance in Liver Resection Surgery

Innovative techniques for preoperative risk assessment in liver surgery are explored, addressing the critical challenge of determining safety margins around tumors. The work proposes both uniform and non-uniform safety margin definitions while considering vascular risk. It introduces intraoperative support methods, including the adaptation of surgical planning data and advanced visualization techniques like surgical risk maps and augmented reality. Additionally, auditory support methods for navigated liver surgery are presented, enhancing risk assessment and surgical precision.
