Living in a uniquely designed home surrounded by lilac and laburnum, he leads a quiet existence marked by his companionship with a young sheep-dog named Blink. His household includes a capable housekeeper, Marian Petty, and her husband, Joe, the chauffeur, as they navigate life in the aftermath of the Great War.
